Genesis 28:10 - 30

What stood out today: v15 I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you. v21 Then the Lord will be my God. v29 The journey begins.

My response: Jesus, you are the gate of heaven. You are the great shepherd. Jacob’s journey is bizarre. Why do you let these strange things happen? The deception of Laban with Leah. The working seven more years for Rachel. Why did you open Leah’s womb and close Rachel’s when you saw that Leah was not loved? Then two wives, two concubines, 12 children. More deception with branches and speckled goats and dark sheep. You prove yourself good and sovereign in the midst of evil.
